A Heartland, WI based Charlotte Mason elementary school
Augustine Academy is Heartland’s premier Charlotte Mason method elementary school. They are also a hybrid-style school that offers much flexibility and an increase of quality time with parents.
The Augustine Academy is an intentional educational community centered around the spiritual, moral, intellectual, and civic formation of children, partnering with parents to prepare young people to thoughtfully engage the world.
Graphic Brother Marketing was approached to refresh their website with a new design. They felt their existing website wasn’t up to par with where the industry was. Their old website was built with outdated software that made it difficult to use and update. So we decided a redesign was the best option.
Based on our initial conversations with The Augustine Academy we decided to go with WordPress as the CMS, WP Give as the donation platform, and finally Elementor as the builder. Our favorite software Elementor is a visual page-builder that allows for easy copy/imagery updates in the future.
The pain point of this client was how outdated their website design was, how hard it was to make changes to the website themselves, and there were many old unnecessary pages. They recently also had a new feature video for their school being made and an updated photoshoot to represent their school. With the addition of this high-quality content, they knew their website had to match.
The features sequestered were an on-site donation portal, an automatically updating calendar for events, condensing of the page contents, and an overall updated UI which would also result in better UX. The main purpose of this website is for prospective parents to come and learn about what the school has to offer and ideally get new applications. During our design phase, we approached this as what would a prospective parent want to see?
Lastly, they already had a strong brand identity with a nice blue and a lime green that they wanted to keep. They did mention they wanted a dynamic feeling website and to feature their new photography but other than that we had a lot of flexibility in terms of design. So we focused on creating a design that easily allowed prospective parents to find what they are looking for and contact when needed. The homepage was designed to feature their new video in the hero background and to share what makes Augustine unique. The Charlotte Mason Philosophy, hybrid schooling, and their gospel-centered approach. One thing a website always needs is testimonials so we made sure to include these as well!
